On July 13, LBI London welcomed Dr Susanne Frane and Martine Brucker from the German Embassy in London to our new offices at Senate House, and to the LBI Library at its new home in Senate House Library. Dr Frane is Head of the Culture and Education Section at the Embassy, while Martine Brucker is the Desk Officer for Arts, Culture and Heritage. The visit offered a chance to see the Institute’s new premises and to learn more about the library collection now available to researchers in Bloomsbury.
Joseph Cronin said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Dr Susanne Frane and Martine Brucker to our new offices and to show them the LBI Library at Senate House Library. We were glad to have the opportunity to discuss our work and to share the next stage of the Institute’s life in Bloomsbury.”
The visit also underlined the continuing links between LBI London and its German and British cultural partners, including the German Embassy, Birkbeck, the German Historical Institute London and the Wiener Holocaust Library. LBI London looks forward to continuing that exchange as the Institute settles into its new home at Senate House.
