The Leo Baeck Institute London is delighted to announce that its renowned publication series, Schriftenreihe wissenschaftlicher Abhandlungen des Leo Baeck Instituts, is now available open access, offering free and unlimited digital access to our collection of publications. This significant move reflects the Institute’s commitment to fostering greater accessibility and engagement with German-Jewish history and culture for researchers, students, and the wider public.
First published in 1959, the Schriftenreihe is one of the most distinguished series in the field, featuring more than 70 monographs and edited volumes that span a wide array of topics related to the German-Jewish experience. The series covers the period between the Enlightenment and the Modern Era, with a special focus on European history of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Subjects range from social and political history to intellectual, cultural, and gender studies, along with history of the body, scholarship, and musicology.
“We are thrilled to make the Schriftenreihe series freely available to everyone,” said Institute Director, Dr. Joseph Cronin. “This decision aligns with our vision to make the history and culture of German-Jewish life accessible to all, ensuring that these important scholarly works reach a wider audience.”
