Jew Süss and Jud Süss – Film Screening and Panel Discussion

This event is organised by the Pears Institute for the study of Antisemitism, the Birkbeck Institute for the Moving Image and The Wiener Library, in association with the Insiders/Outsiders Festival and the German Screen Studies Network.

The two versions of Jew Süss and Jud Süss were produced with very different intentions, the 1934 film was made by German Jews and gentiles in exile in the United Kingdom, whilst the 1940 version is an infamous Nazi German propaganda film.

A panel discussion will follow the screening of the films.

Date: Sun, Mar. 22, 2020

Time: 11:00am – 5:00pm
